Cellar Door Restaurant at Night


Bulong Estate is a family owned and run vineyard, winery and restaurant. Situated in the Upper Yarra Valley just off the Warburton Highway. Our cellar door and restaurant is surrounded by our mature vineyard and has superb views to Mount Donna Buang and the Yarra Ranges.

Our 33 hectare vineyard is planted in a natural amphitheatre, featuring north facing, well drained slopes with an elevation of 140 meters above sea level. The area is recognised as being one of the best in the Yarra Valley for the production of cool climate grapes of distinction.

The wines can be tasted and the views enjoyed at the cellar door, open 7 days, 11am to 4pm (excluding Good Friday, Christmas day and Boxing Day).

Our restaurant, under the guidance of our French Chef, serves high quality food using fresh, local produce. Wine is provided at the table at cellar door prices. It is open for lunch Friday to Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

We also take bookings for functions of up to 60 people, such as Weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.

Spanish Evening March 13th
Everyone enjoyed our celebration
of Spanish cuisine and all things Spanish last year. We will be our next Spanish evening on Saturday night March 13th. Chef Anointe is putting together a wonderful Spanish menu..

Good Friday, April 2nd - Cellar door and Restaurant will be closed.
Easter Saturday, April 3rd - Cellar door open. Restaurant will be open and serving lunch and dinner.
Easter Sunday, April 4th - Cellar door open. Restaurant will be open serving lunch.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserve Cabernet Franc released
At the recent Yarra Valley Wine Show I was talking to one of the judges about the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2006 Blends class. He lamented the fact that a lot of the wines shown were looking tired. He then looked at his notes from the show and read from them that the Bulong Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernets had great fruit flavours and structure and in his opinion were “built to last”.  I looked at the results and saw that these two wines were the highest pointed wines in their class. Phew, it seemed that the other judges also held this opinion. ..

Now serving our Summer Menu
Summer has arrived and so has our Summer Menu. Full of the delights of summer such as freshly shucked oysters for entree and chicken breast stuffed with Marscapone cheese and basil for main course
. Our dessert menu changes weekly and will of course include the fresh fruits of summer as they come into season....
