Bulong Estate is located in the Upper Yarra Valley, an area recognised as being one of the best in the Yarra Valley for the production of high quality cool climate grapes.

Since 1995 we have been growing grapes here and our family-owned and run Estate has been dedicated to making high quality wine since 2002.

Bulong Estate is now a destination in its own right. With spectacular views to the Yarra Ranges and Mount Donna Buang, the Winery, Cellar door and Restaurant is the perfect place to relax with quality food and wine.

James Halliday 5 stars and "A dark horse"
Congratulation to Matt and his team on achieving a 5 star Winery rating from James Halliday in his latest edition, 2012, of the Australian Wine Companion.

One of his "Ten dark horses"
Not only that but he lists us as one of his "Ten dark horses" on page 49 of his book. These are a very small group of wineries that have produced a particularly impressive series of wines for this edition.

"Matt Carter's winemaking has gained confidence as the vineyard has matured....Quality Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon is quite a quartet."

New Wine Releases: 2011 Rosé and 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon.

We are excited to add to our wine line up our first Rosé. Our new label shows a new spring bud on a vine with the lovely pink of the new vine leaves matched beautifully with the pink of the wine through the clear bottle. Come into the cellar door to try our new cheeky drop, or order yours to be delivered.

We have also released our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. Perfect for a Porterhouse steak the 2010 was a fantastic year for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a harmonious and complex wine with blackberries and blackcurrents as well as tannins and perfectly balanced french oak. Order yours to be delivered if you can't get to the restaurant to enjoy it with a porterhouse...
