Bulong Estate Restaurant

The Bulong Estate Restaurant was opened by owner Judy Carter in 2006 with the philosophy of providing high quality meals made from fresh, local produce. Judy also aimed to entice people up the Warburton Highway by providing meals that were great value.

Today those ideals are maintained under the guidance of Chef Yoshitaka Kojima, simply known as “Chef Yoshi”. Chef Yoshi's seasonal menu's are modern French Japanese fusion. Full of delicious French favorites based on his training with a twist introduced from his Japanese heritage.

Chef Yoshi's amazing meals are visually stunning and as delicious as they look. Matched with our equally delicious estate wines it is the perfect excuse to take a trip up the Warburton Highway.

Open Friday to Sunday for lunch. Friday and Saturday nights for dinner.
Bookings are highly recommended.

Our chef Yoshitaka Kojima, simply known as “Yoshi”. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Chef Yoshi has over 12 years of extensive cooking experience in Japan and Australia.

His training in Japan was as a French Chef but the rigid structure of Japanese dining meant there was little room to fuse French and Japanese cuisines. He is very excited about being in Australia and especially the Australian food culture. “In Australia I am allowed, actually encouraged, to combine my French training with my Japanese upbringing. The Australian food culture is continuing to evolve and I aspire to be an influence in that development.” says Yoshi. “My experiences of French bistro and French fine dining gives me a great base to introduce some Japanese infusion”.

Yoshi and Bulong Estate.

Yoshi was particularly excited about coming to Bulong Estate. He loves the fresh Yarra Valley produce and the challenge of matching his food with the award winning Estate wines. He also enjoys the opportunity to change and improve on the menu every three months as new seasonal menus are brought in. He says: “At the Bulong Estate Restaurant you can expect to enjoy modern French Bistro style food with special ‘Yoshi’ influences, in a relaxed country atmosphere”. Chef Yoshi takes enormous pride in his profession and every dish is presented beautifully.
